Bait Setups Built to Compete: Inside Triple H’s Livewell Setup
Wicked Wells|
Every Wednesday, we sit down with elite owners, captains and crew to break down what makes them dangerous—the gear, the mindset, and the moments that separate the stage from the sidelines.
This week’s spotlight lands on Triple H, a 58’ C&L sportfishing vessel based out of Stuart, Florida—where sailfishing isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life.
As veterans of the Florida sailfishing scene and proud members of the Stuart Sailfish Club, Triple H has consistently proven themselves on the leaderboard. They finished Top 5 in the 2024 Annual Light Tackle Tournament and claimed Top Member Boat honors.
At the heart of those results? Captain James Ivey and his crew’s disciplined approach to bait management. Triple H’s Owner, Jackie, is the first to point out how much bait matters to their approach.
“In the South Florida tournament circuit, keeping bait lively is paramount for our program,” says owner, Jackie.
And he’s quick to mention that at the tournament level, beyond the Captain and crew’s touch - the tools the team is equipped with really matter to delivering an edge.
"Switching to the Wicked Wells system is a game-changer for us,” says Jackie.
From catching bait at first light to keeping it pristine over long tournament days, Captain Ivey and his crew run their program with precision. Their Wicked Wells-equipped setup gives them the capacity and control they need to handle multiple bait types—an essential edge in South Florida’s highly competitive sailfish fishery.
That’s what separates contenders from champions: a crew dialed in on the details and systems built not just to survive, but to compete.
From the docks of Stuart to the offshore battlegrounds, Triple H, is always ready—and now, they’re Wicked Wells equipped.
